Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins hosting her first city commission meeting after taking the oath of office. Higgins is hoping the commission will approve James Reyes as the new City Manager. Reyes is the current Public Safety Chief for Miami-Dade, before that he spent twenty-two years with the Broward Sheriff's Office. If approved, Reyes would handle the daily operations of the city administration and set the city's budget. He would also have hiring and firing power for city employees.
