A big bru ha-ha at the Broward School Board meeting where people are outraged over a decision by the board to move some graduation ceremonies from off-site venues to school gyms to save money. Nathalie Lynch-Walsh says it's not fair and inequitable. The district announced its planning on holding most ceremonies at Dillard, Blanche Ely and Pompano Beach Highs. Eleven graduating classes from schools like Cypress Bay and Stoneman Douglas would still have ceremonies at the Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood. Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn says this move would save the district 500-thousand-dollars.
