A new American Heart Association report shows cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in the U-S --blamed for 916 thousand deaths in 2023 which is more than cancer and accidental injuries combined. Memorial Chief Cardiac Dr. Ralph Levy says deaths have returned to pre-pandemic levels. He says 70-percent of the population is obese leading to problems like heart disease and failure.
