(Miami, FL) - The attorney for professional boxer Gervonta "Tank" Davis who was arrested on a domestic violence charge is crying foul. Attorney Simon Steckel says Davis is not a flight risk, he is a victim of extortion. Steckel telling the bond court judge that this is a documented shakedown.

He says he has proof that the alleged victim lied to the police after he refused to pay her a million dollars.

Davis's ex-girlfriend accuses him of attacking her at a strip club in October in Miami Gardens where she was working. The judge set bond at $8500 and issued a stay-away order. Charges include battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping.

Steckel telling Miami-Dade bond court judge Mindy Glazer that his client has lost millions because of this case.

"He's a multi-millionaire, well-known national boxer. As a result of what these people did, he had a nationally scheduled fight back in November. He lost it because of these people and lost a payday of $20-to-40 million."

The woman also filed a civil lawsuit alleging aggravated battery, kidnapping and intentional infliction of emotional distress against her.
