Democrats in South Florida are pushing for a permanent extension to Temporary Protected Status for Haitians a day after a federal judge blocks the Trump administration from ending it. Party Chair Nikki Fried says Florida is home to around half of the Haitians protected by TPS. She wants to create a pathway to citizenship for the more than 350-thousand people who could wind up being sent back to a country experiencing gang violence and political unrest.
