More law enforcement members come under fire on the job. This time in Indian River County, where deputies making a traffic stop were shot at in Gifford Friday night.
While the deputies were not injured, the person who fired the shots remains at large. The two shots came from about 100 feet away from where the deputies were conducting the traffic stop.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar calls it an "ambush-style shooting" and says his agency won't tolerate this conduct and will investigate every lead to identify a suspect.
He said this year has been exceedingly dangerous for local law enforcement.
